Adri’s Veggie Arepas :
After a few weeks of break, I’m back on track and I can’t wait to share many new super yummy recipes with you guys. Since I came back from my Easter holidays, I have been really busy with school and I had no time to post on the blog any recipe or the pictures of my amazing Spring Break trip to Hawaii. Now that I have more free time I can’t wait to write many new posts for you. I will start with the recipe for the famous Arepas created by my lovely friend Adriana. Arepas are a typical Venezuelan dish made with corn flour and stuffed with different fillings like: cheese,vegetables, avocado or meat. To add more nutrients and taste to the arepas, we decided to combine the classic dough with spinach (green arepas), carrots (orange arepas), beetroot (pinky arepas) and black beans (purple arepas).

My Favourite Detox Smoothie:
Today I am going to share with you another recipe with persimmons, here in California their season is almost over and I used the last ones I had in my kitchen, to make this fresh and nourishing smoothie. I combined the super sweet taste of persimmons with the strong taste of turmeric. Turmeric has been used in traditional Chinese and Indian medicine to fight infections and inflammations, turmeric is also a very potent antioxidant that can neutralise free radicals.

The Benefits of Persimmons:
I have noticed that I haven’t been updating the section dedicate to my favourite ingredients for quite a long time, therefore today I’m going to talk to you about persimmons. From now on I would like to dedicate one post every month to the benefits of my favourite seasonal ingredients. In the past few weeks I created different recipes with persimmons like my Persimmon Tarte, which is super easy and fun to make.
